This Herring Gull was ringed as a youngster in nest in Kandalakshskiy Nature Reserve, Murmansk, Russia. The date was 9th of July in 2005 which makes it a 4cy bird when seen on the 3rd of October 2008 on the rubbish dump of Köping, Sweden. In this image the age is suggested by fleshy inner part of the bill in combination with the black subterminal markings. Note also the dark mantle of this north-eastern bird.
